Setsele Sámi Settlement

Setsele Sámi settlement is a so-called kronotorp. The traditional Sámi hut (kåta) and the three storehouses (härbren) are fine examples of old Forest Sámi architecture.

Today, Setsele Sámi settlement consists of the kåta and the three storehouses, located on either side of the road. They were moved here in 1901 from Koppsele Sámi settlement, which lies just under 4 km upstream along the Malå River. One of the buildings has the year 1789 carved into it. The Sámi settlement is classified as a kronotorp.
